The UN City, Djøf, IDA and YL invite you to an evening in UN City focused on career opportunities in the United Nations.

As a student, you can do internships in one of the UN’s many organizations, and for graduates the UN offers Junior Professional Officer (JPO) programmes. The UN also recruits mid-career professionals specializing in different fields.

Regardless of type of employment and location, the UN is a great opportunity for those, who thrive in an international and multi-cultural environment and wish to work for peace and social and economic progress all around the world.

15.30-17.00: Meet n’ Greet (Lobby & Lounge Areas)
The Sustainable Development Goals not only depict the world we want by 2030, but also represent global job opportunities within the UN system. Meet UN staff working within your field of interest and find out what it is like to work with e.g. health, infrastructure, environment, or procurement in the UN system.
Sandwiches will be served in the Canteen.
17.00-18.00: Plenary (Auditorium 1-3)
17.00-17.10: Welcome
17.10-17.40: The UN Labour Market – where are we now and what it will look like in the future? By Jens Wandel, former Assistant Secretary General and Director of Bureau for Management Services, UNDP
17.40-18.00: Contracts and employment opportunities in the UN system.
18.00-18.15: Break (Lobby)
Guests may serve themselves to fruit in the Canteen and subsequently make their way to the break-out sessions in Lounge Areas 1 and 7.
18.15-19.00: Break-out sessions (Lounge Area 1 & 7)
Early career session: Personal stories from staff members 1-5 years into their UN careers. Followed by Q&A session with HR staff.
Mid-career session: Personal stories from staff members 10+ years into their UN careers. Followed by Q&A session with HR staff.
19.00: End of event
